Space saving
Most conventional shelving systems hold more fresh air than they do stored items. This is because space is needed above each item stored to allow ease of retrieval from the middle or back of the shelf. However items are easier to see and retrieve if they are on the front of the shelf. Consequently, this is where they tend to be located, and the rear of the shelf is unused.
With drawers or sliding shelves, they are pulled towards the user, so every part is easily visible and accessible. Lista’s full range of drawer heights and adjustable shelf positions means no vertical space is wasted achieving almost 100% space ultilisation.
Protection
Here at Lista we understand your wish to protect the objects being stored and have used materials, which are free from any chemical content preventing damage to your artefacts. Our paint and accessories are all ODDY tested by the British Museum to ensure that they are suitable for long term museum storage.
Drawers further protect artefacts as they can eliminate unnecessary handling; they prevent the need to store a number of items together in a box. Unpacking and re-packing of the artefacts to locate an individual item means increased handling and possible damage. Artefacts stored properly in drawers can be individually accessed without the need to handle other items, thus reducing the likelihood of damage.
Organisation
When artefacts are allocated an identifiable location and recorded, this saves time when they need to be retrieved or placed in a different location.
