Making it even better

That's how, from the design of a simple drawer, several million workplace systems evolved - at over a hundred thousand companies all over the world.

Alfred Lienhard has always been passionate about making good things even better, When on 17th February 1945 he went into business on his own as a locksmith and fitter, he laid the foundation for what was to become today's Lista Corporation. Lista's international success story started in 1954 with the development of the stackable drawer segments B111. After having conquered the Swiss market, European breakthrough wasn't long to follow:

In 1956, Lista won the bid for the Mercedes Benz contract to design their tools and outfitting department. Soon after, Lista became a supplier of storage/drawer systems for the entire European auto industry.

And with the design of a standardized drawer that could be custom divided, the American market also opened up to Lista. At the end of the Sixties the Lista International Corporation was founded in Newton Highland near Boston, assuring lasting success in this new market. After his father had unexpectedly passed away in 1970, Freddy Lien hard took over. And while certainly in keeping with the original entrepreneurial spirit of its founder, he brought many new impulses and a fresh approach to the business. He went on to make Lista a leading international company with 3 manufacturing plants, as well as sales organizations in 37 different countries.

As precise as a swiss-made watch.

Aside from using only the highest-grade materials and the latest in manufacturing technology, it is our employees who are responsible for the outstanding quality of Lista workplace systems. Our precise drawer designs manufactured from high-grade steel sheet metal guarantee the safety and protection of any goods stored.

These drawers are the backbone of all Lista workplace systems. But there is more to the unique quality of our products than the actual set of drawers or cabinets - it is Lista's made-to-order approach where planning, design, manufacturing and assembly are one integrated process. First we analyze the spatial situation with a given customer and then start a planning and consulting process that eventually leads to the optimum use of space for the shop or storage facility in question.

Lista has developed solutions for a diverse array of trades and lines of business, creating custom made workplace systems. In time, these systems will change and grow with the business and are easily adapted to new needs and situations.

More than just a chest of drawers - Lista brings you a complete system, allover the world.

Lista is the only company in its market that operates on both sides of the Atlantic and commands exhaustive company-owned sales organizations with 8 distribution centers in Europe and 25 in the US, Canada and Mexico. You join the race - we deliver the equipment to keep you ahead.

Behind every success story there is a lot of work and of course a secret, too, The secret of Lista's success is the discovery of the E = 17 millimetre unit of measure, which has proven to be the most intelligent divider unit and has become a standard the world over.

Using the number 17, you get the maximum amount of different size compartments in a drawer, Thus optimum use of space for small parts and tools is ensured while everything gets exactly the amount of room needed for adequate storage. The depth of the drawers is designed according to average arm length. assuming easy access to even the hindmost compartments.

Lista's priority has always been the Improvement of people's working environment - long before talk of ergonomics was fashionable. Well-designed workplaces not only increase the productivity of a company, but also demonstrate to employees the importance and worth of their respective work

No motivational seminar will ever create the amount of application, responsibility and loyalty that is achieved by a pleasant working environment. And because there are many companies with highly specialized production processes, custom solutions have been part of Lista's product lines from the start.
